DAW Setup Guides

Every DAW does one of two things: it hosts the Receiver in front of your instrument on one track, or it needs two tracks and a MIDI connection between them. Your DAW's card says which.

Yes! The VST3 plugins work with Ableton Live, Bitwig Studio, Cubase, Studio One and any DAW supporting VST3. Logic Pro users use the AU (Audio Unit) plugins. MidiBro 2 ships two Receiver variants, a MIDI effect and an instrument version, so even DAWs that won't place a MIDI effect before an instrument (Ableton, Cubase) are covered.
No. MidiBro runs 100% locally. Your MIDI files never leave your computer. All AI processing happens on your machine. (The optional MCP connection for AI assistants is off by default.)
It never expires. The same setup runs as trial and full version. The trial is capped at 200 search results and 5 MIDI folders. Enter your license key and everything unlocks, no reinstall.
Yes! Install MidiBro on all your personal computers (studio desktop, laptop, etc.).
Download and install the MidiBro 2 setup. It uses its own database and installs alongside v1, nothing about your current setup is touched. On first launch it offers to import your MidiBro 1 library (you can also run the import later from Settings). Note that plugins were renamed for v2: MidiBro Master and MidiBro Receiver (MidiBro Connector remains part of MidiBro 1).
No. MidiBro 2 is a separate one-time purchase and MidiBro 1 keys aren't valid for it. Try the free trial first, then if you decide to upgrade, existing MidiBro 1 owners can email me for a discount.
No. MidiBro never moves or modifies your original files. It creates a separate database for organization and thumbnails. Your files stay exactly where they are.
MidiBro is optimized for this! Special caching prevents repeated network requests. Thumbnails and metadata are cached locally for fast access.
Yes! All minor and patch updates (2.x) are free.

Right-click the DMG → Open, then right-click the installer → Open. This bypasses Gatekeeper for unsigned apps.
A corrupted third-party plugin may crash the scan before MidiBro is detected. Windows: temporarily move plugins out of C:\Program Files\Common Files\CLAP and \VST3, rescan, re-add one by one. Mac: check /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/CLAP and /VST3.
